I posted earlier (see copy at bottom of this post) that there is a vacancy in the office of Cherry Valley Township Clerk. Most units of government do the least they can to advertise these types of vacancies because frankly, not too many people are interested in being appointed to these positions. Also, state law doesn't require much notice to the public about filling vacancies. Despite the apparent lack of public interest in these appointed/elected positions, I still feel government officials need to be as upfront and vocal about finding qualified candidates to fill these positions. Unfortunately my blog posts here may be too little, too late, but I tried. As I prepare for my township meeting tonight, I'm hoping that more than one interested party has come forward to request appointment to the office of Cherry Valley Township Clerk.
