River City Sound Chorus Wins First Place in Region 22 Competition
Rockford's very own River City Sound Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adeline International, won first place at Region 22 competitions, held May 16-19, 2013 in Appleton, WI. This is River City Sound's third first place regional victory in five years. (The most as you can get in five years as winners take a year off after each victory.) This victory ensures another trip to international competition in Baltimore in 2014.
From the River City Sound website:
"As a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, the purpose of our organization is to train women in the art of four-part a capella harmony in barbershop style. We also provide entertainment for community and private events.
We welcome new members and any woman 18 or older who enjoys singing is invited to attend our weekly rehearsals. Youth memberships are also available for young women ages 13-17 who have a chaperone available for overnight events."
