“The Big AM 1380” Hits the Airwaves

[Janesville, WI]—A brand new, local radio station is going live Monday, April 14th at 5:00 A.M.

The Big AM 1380 will replace ESPN 1380, and will cover all things local in Janesville, Beloit, South Beloit, Rockton and Roscoe. The Big AM 1380 will provide listeners with local coverage of local news, local issues, local weather and local sports every day of the week. “We are thrilled to be bringing so much local programming back to 1380. We are committed to offering the best local talk, news and sports for our listeners in Beloit, Janesville, South Beloit, Roscoe and Rockton,” said General Manager Laurie Clark.
The lineup on The Big AM 1380 will consist of local hosts Monday-Friday from 5am – 6pm. Nights and weekends will offer local specialty programming and local sports play by play and shows, as well as ESPN Radio programming.

“We are incredibly excited to do more for our local listeners, partners and communities,” said Program Director Andrew Liebetrau. “Not only will we have a lot of great new and local content, but we will continue to offer some of the great local programs we have had for years.”
The station will air The Morning Mess with Scott Thompson, weekdays from 5am-9am; Glenn Smith from 9am-11am; Jock Talk from 11am-1pm; Big Time with Tony Huml from 1pm-3pm; The Afternoon Drive with Sly from 3pm-6pm.

“Local sports coverage will be a big part of our brand, much like the rest of the Big Radio stations. Local communities here are very passionate about sports, especially at the high school level, and we will be the place to go for everything fans want to hear,” said Liebetrau.
The station will air high school sports from teams throughout the local stateline area, also airing a weekly show, “The Prep Corner”, every Saturday morning from 9am-10am.

During the summer months, The Big AM 1380 will be home to Beloit Snappers baseball, Roscoe Rush football and NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series racing. Saturday mornings at 8am, the station will air the "The Big AM1380 Antique Road Show", a local antique show featuring local stores and flea markets.

The Big AM 1380 will also be heard live at thebigAM1380.com.
