Hogs broadcasting network intact again for 2011-12

Rockford, Ill.-The Rockford IceHogs announced on Thursday that Granite City Food and Brewery is the new home for Bud Light Hog Talk. The IceHogs also announced that 1330 AM WNTA will once again serve as the team’s flagship radio station for the IceHogs Broadcasting Network.


Bud Light Hog Talk begins on Monday, Oct. 10 with the 2011-12 season debut at Granite City. Granite City is located at 7140 Harrison Ave., next to CherryVale Mall. The show runs from 6-7 p.m. and will be hosted by Mike Peck and Stephen Nelson on a rotating basis. Bud Light Hog Talk will feature a member of the IceHogs coaching staff and two players each week.


Guests on Monday include IceHogs Head Coach Ted Dent along with forwards Brandon Segal and Peter LeBlanc. Fans attending the show can take advantage of food and Bud Light specials. If you can’t make it to Granite City, the show will be aired on 1330 AM WNTA and on wnta.com.


WNTA will also serve as the IceHogs flagship radio station once again this season, broadcasting every regular season and postseason game live on 1330 AM and on the Web through wnta.com. The show begins 30-minutes prior to face-off with the U.S. Cellular Pregame Show and concludes with the Comcast Postgame Show.


The IceHogs broadcast team will consist of Peck on the call with the play-by-play and Nelson hosting in studio. Tim Mattila, the head coach of the 15-time defending state champion Rockford Icemen, also returns this season for select games to provide color commentating.


ESPN Radio 1380 AM WTJK, will broadcast 40 IceHogs games live as well. Based out of Janesville, Wis., the stateliness radio sports leader will also host the weekly feature “Inside The Pig Pen” every Tuesday on “Jock Talk” at 5:30 p.m. “Inside The Pig Pen” will give listeners an inside look at the IceHogs with Peck and hosts Andrew Liebetrau and Andy Gannon.


Rockford’s TV coverage will be anchored by Comcast Cable Channel-57. Every home game on the 2011-12 slate will be televised live on Comcast Channel-57, while the audio from all 38 road games will be aired on the cable access channel.


“Hockey Night In Rockford” is back for a second straight season on Rockford’s My Network TV channel 17.2 and Comcast and Charter Cable Channels 16. Every Saturday home game will be televised live on Rockford’s My Network TV. The program will also feature intermission reports with WTVO Sports Director Scott Leber and Weekend Sports Anchor Ben Hutchison.
