Possible Snow Tonight - National Weather Service Advisory

FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE - THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW TO DEVELOP TONIGHT ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS... MAINLY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80. THE PRECIPITATION WILL LIKELY BEGIN AS RAIN THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...COLDER AIR MAY CHANGE THE RAIN TO SNOW LATER THIS EVENING. IF THIS BAND OF SNOW DEVELOPS TONIGHT...THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR AN INCH OR TWO OF ACCUMULATIONS...ESPECIALLY ON GRASSY SURFACES. DUE TO THE FACT THAT TEMPERATURES WILL BE MARGINAL...THERE IS A GOOD AMOUNT OF UNCERTAINTY ON HOW MUCH OF THE PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS SNOW...AND MORE IMPORTANTLY HOW MUCH IF ANY WILL ACCUMULATE ON THE WARM GROUND. IN SPITE OF THIS...DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME HEAVY SNOW...SOME SLUSHY ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE.
