RiverHawks drop Crushers

LOVES PARK, Ill. – Rookie Matt Greener had three hits and Rockford took advantage of four Lake Erie errors Wednesday as the RiverHawks beat the Crushers, 13-7, at Road Ranger Stadium.

The RiverHawks' first six runs were unearned, including the five they scored in the second inning to break a 1-1 tie. Greener led off with a single to right field. Reno Malay hit a likely double-play grounder to shortstopAndrew Davis, but Lake Erie second baseman Chase Fontaine dropped Davis' throw. Luis Parache followed with a sacrifice-bunt attempt, and Fontaine, who covered first base on the play, again dropped a throw to load the bases. Caleb Curry and David Cooper followed with RBI groundouts. With two outs, Freddy Parejo doubled in a run, Jeremy Hamilton singled and Jake Eigsti singled in two. The RiverHawks led the rest of the way...
