Rockford area union and tea party members join WI demonstrations

ROCKFORD/MADISON (WREX) - For the 5th straight day thousands of people demonstrate in Wisconsin's capitol against a proposed budget bill. Republican Governor Scott Walker proposed a plan that would cut benefits and limit collective bargaining for public workers. Even though this affects Wisconsin workers people from Rockford, on both sides of the issue, have joined the demonstrations.

The proposed plan requires public workers to contribute more to their health care and pension costs and largely eliminate their collective bargaining rights.
